1. Who we are

Ommy is provided by HeyOmmy, the sole proprietorship of Lars Nijland, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42174318, Heicop 29a, 3628 AD Kockengen, the Netherlands. Contact: contact@heyommy.com.

These terms apply to your use of the Ommy app and, if you get it, the Ommy Pro subscription. How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy. The Dutch version of these terms prevails if the two versions differ.

2. The service

Ommy tells you short spoken stories about places around you while you travel. The stories are generated automatically by artificial intelligence (AI), based on public sources such as Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap. We do our best to keep them accurate, but AI can make mistakes: a story may be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Use Ommy for entertainment and background, not as a source for important decisions, and not for navigation.

See a story that is wrong or inappropriate? Report it with the flag icon next to the story.

3. Stay safe on the road

Ommy is made for listening, not for looking at. Don't operate the app while driving, and always follow traffic rules. You remain responsible for how you behave in traffic.

4. Your account

5. Free and Ommy Pro

Ommy is free to use, with a limit on the number of stories per day and per month. Ommy Pro adds extras such as lifelike premium voices and higher limits. The Pro screen in the app shows exactly what Pro includes.

6. What you may not do

Don't use Ommy to disrupt or abuse the service, for example by requesting stories automatically, bypassing security, or using someone else's account or purchase. We may block your account in case of abuse.

7. Content and sources

The stories are meant for personal use. They contain information from public sources, including Wikipedia (CC BY-SA) and OpenStreetMap (ODbL); that information remains under the licence of its original source. You may share a story with others using the share button in the app.

8. Availability and changes

We do our best to keep Ommy working well, but we cannot guarantee that the service is always available or that there is a story at every place. We keep improving the app, and features may change. If we remove an important part of Pro, you can cancel your subscription.

9. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for Ommy Pro in the twelve months before the damage. This limitation does not apply in case of intent or gross negligence on our part, and does not affect your rights as a consumer.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the app changes. We announce important changes in the app in advance. The date at the top shows the most recent version.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you live in another country, you keep the protection that the mandatory consumer law of that country gives you. If you have a complaint, please email us first; we'll look for a solution together.
